The office of Public Land Transport Authority has recently been established by an Act of Parliament, Public Land Transport Act No.4 of 2015 by the Vanuatu Government. The Office is located under the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Authority is a body corporate with Board Members appointed by the Act and is headed by a Chief Executive Officer. The Act was established to control the operation and management of public land transport.

The Director of the Department of Local Authorities; and The Director of the Department of Tourism; and The ead of the Traffic Section of the Vanuatu Police Force; and The ead of the Traffic Section of the Vanuatu Police Force; and the Chairperson of each Public Land Transport Association registered with PLTA
