Keeping you informed
To all Land Transport Owner & Visiters, We will continue to connect with you through our website informed and updated on what we do. If there is anything we can do to improve our services so that they meet your needs , Please do let us know.

Since 2021 when we open our office in Santo, we had a chance to occupy a small office space within the Sanma Provincial Compound and we have been working in that office until September 2023 when we signed our new Contract agreement for a new Office space which was offered to us by Sanma Provincial Government.

The new building has 4 offices ,1 Conference room, 1 storage room, 2 toilets and 1 kitchen. CEO and IT officer has travel from Vila to Santo to help setup the new office with new office facilities. The event of the re-opening was with presence of our Director General, First PA of Minister MOIA, SG Samna Provincial Government, Assistant SG, CEO PLTA, Representatives from our Partner Stakeholder and Vehicle owners and Drivers.

Launching of Data Permit Cards

It is another great achievement for PLTA to upgrade its services. The CEO has successfully launched our first data card printer during the Re- opening of the New office space. This was one of the major tasks to be done this year on our Business Plan and now we can successfully print Data Cards for Drivers and Vehicles in Sanma.

Sanma PLTA is now using this data card printer to Renew Drivers Permit for 2024 and Issue vehicle permits.

Awareness activities coupled with the issuance of permits in the provinces were delayed. Other stakeholders planned activities were impacted also. The visits are usually organized as joint visits with Police Officers and, Province Licensing Officers, PWD Inspection Team and provincial land transport associations. Police Officers were deployed to other islands to assist with relief supplies distribution to affected families.

This means that awareness activities were delayed in Torba, Malampa, Sanma and parts of Penama province. These will be conducted during the 1st and 2nd Quarter of 2024.

In September a joint awareness session was conducted in Luganville at the Ports and Harbour conference room. Public transport drivers and owners were invited to attend the awareness session jointly conducted by PLTA, Police, Department of Customs & Inland Revenue, Luganville Municipality and Vanuatu Financial Service Commission. Shepherd’s islands have not been visited again this year with Shefa Port Vila Land Transport Association. This is the second year that funds were made available but plans to visit did not eventuate. PLTA will plan its own visit in 2024.
